Orange bedding is cropping up all over
lately. Here’s how to gradually work this brave hue onto your bed.
What does a
love for orange
say about you?
You’re likely
“outgoing,
creative,
expressive, and
young at heart,”

Michele
Bernhardt. If
you want these
qualities in your
life, surround
yourself with
the color: Wear
an orange top,
put orange
flowers on your
desk, or hang a
piece of orange
art in the nx)m
you spend the
most time in.

Go subtle or bold
by using one of these
palettes. In the first,
green is the major
player; pink is a
surprise pairing for
orange in the second.
PUMPKIN + BLUSH + BLUE
Peaches inspired this sweet orange and
pink pairing; a bit of blue grounds it.

If you add just one
colorful item to
your bedding, let it
be an orange
throw, says Terrell.
“I like an ethnic
textile of some
kind,” she says,
“but it could be a
solid throw.”
For more color,
add a patterned
duvet cover or
coverlet on which
orange is a major
player. Keep the
rest of your
bedding white to
play it safe.
Build on the
patterned duvet
cover with
matching shams
and throw pillows
in an accent color
or two. The white
sheets and solid
throw stay in
place. 1®
